Why verification failed.

Variants§

§

Mismatch

The digest did not match the password.

Deliberately does not distinguish “no such user” from “wrong password”: the difference is a user-enumeration oracle, and it is not information the far end is entitled to.

§

ForeignNonce

The nonce was not issued by this server, or has been tampered with.

§

Replay

The nonce count repeated with a different request — a replay.

§

QopMismatch

qop=auth was offered and the credentials did not use it, or vice versa.

§

Algorithm

The algorithm named is not one this server offered.
